How I use AI — Daniel Keen

Inspired by the Derek Sivers, I think it's important to state how I'm using Generative AI and LLMs.

I use Claude for asking it any questions I have that I can't easily answer using google, or that are more specific to me.

For programming, both in work and for side projects, I use Claude with Claude Code and OpenAI models with Codex to write pretty much 100% of the code. I write more about this in my post, Identity death as a Software Engineer

I never use AI to write as me. All of my blogs here are 100% hand written by me. I use writing to sharpen my mind and my thoughts, which is more important than ever now i'm not writing code by hand day to day.

I do ask Claude for feedback on the articles, with a specific framing, like helping me to ensure that the article flows, and any area that it feels is weak. I also wouldn't have any issues asking it questions like Derek does, like helping to find examples for and against my points of view.

I also use AI to generate the images for these blogs, too.

Like Derek I want to make it clear that anything written as me will not be written by AI - and if this changes, I will update this page to say so.
